C640 Ram Question

Post by Kitsune »

I have 768 Meg of Ram on my Laptop which is a Dell C640.
I can upgrade to 1024 Meg Ram. Running XP Pro on the laptop. Would cost me around $27.00 to upgrade from New Egg
Would the upgrade be worth it?

Depends on what you do with it. Are you currently experiencing performance issues? If so, with what programs?

Not really any performance issues but just wondering if there is enough perforce upgrade to be worth it or not really

I'm pretty sure a C640 maxes out at 1GB of RAM. It's an old model and you won't get much performance out of it anyway; if 768 works for you, don't bother upgrading, and if you want better performance, consider a new laptop altogether.

Maxed out a 1 Gig, yes....

I tend to tag along behind in computer performance...My two home PCs are only 2.6 and 2.8 GHz Athalons

I just know that the "Break" number is somewhere in the there and wondering if I would reach one by going from 768 to 1024
