DSL modem dropping connection

Post by dragon »

Been trying to download the WoW client and after about an hour my modem drops the connection and I have to log back on to my dsl connection. It only drops during the client down load. I can turn on the connection and leave it alone for hours doing nothing and it's fine. So anyone have any ideas why it does this?

DSL is prone to that kind of bullshit. You need to call your service provider and have them do a line test, as the problem is most likely on their end.

According to Blizzard tech support its due to the fact that its a PPPoE type connection and to contect provider about it. Did that and provider (Deutsch Telecom) was nope ain't happening. Oh well I just download it from else where.

A bit torrent download (if available, I don't know if it would be) would solve the problem.

In my case, my ISP is just annal and kills my upload connections before they can complete. I can't run any type of server behind them.
