Weird storage problem

Post by Lazarus »

Something strange seems to be going on with my hard drive, this morning I had 4.6 GB left, now I have 561mb. This has changed incrementally over the last few hours, though I'm not sure if I'm continuing to lose free space. I've disconnected from the internet with no apparent effect. I haven't installed/downloaded/uncompressed anything that would explain this. I've run a virus check with no result.
Any ideas?

Temporary Memory File?

Also, have you tried shutting down your system, disconnected from the internet obvious, and then checking around for new files?

You might want to download some of the diagnostic tools mentioned in the sticky (okay, all of them), burn them onto a CD, shut down, restart in Safe Mode, uninstall the biggest application(s) you have install disks for, running all the diagnostic tools, and hoping you're computer hasn't been turned into a illegal Porn Site Zombie Server.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

My free space now seems to be expanding gradually, so if it returns to it's previous state I'll presume some sort of glitch...

I'd usually use sequoia view but there doesn't seem to be a vista version yet?
