So I got to the point where I can take cities and...what the fuck?

I tried two times, seized two separate Nord cities every time, and not only does the asshole king not give them to me, they appear to have no lord at all! When I ask the guildmaster who rules here, he spits out an error :D

Must make for charming conversation...

Anyway, does this mean my game is broken, or just that it doesn't tell you when the king doesn't let you keep what you've conquered? I kinda need a city as a power base to rebel against the asshole :P

It can take a few days for a Lord to be installed by the King...

Why is it that my own Crossbow ace, Bunduk (who I've given an extremely expensive Light Crossbow to use on horseback) can't hit jack shit in a siege, but all the Vaegir fucks firing down at us constantly score hits? The amount of times his bolts went completely over the enemy's heads was ridiculous.

For some reason, castle archers are pure OMGawesome. Though to be honest, they're the only thing that makes sieges difficult at all: I just seized Wercheg, defended by 380 soldiers, with a 95 man party. Once lady knights got on the walls, it became a total slaughter. That's one overpowered unit :)

Jarl's do a pretty nasty bit of work on top of the walls too. Problem is getting them there: no shields = oh dear.

Your own archers are awesome too; top-tier archers rape everyone except cavalry (lol game balance). In sieges I don't bother assaulting until my archers have killed everyone with impossible sniper shots.

Frankly, Bunduk is probably missing because he's aiming his crossbow like a bow due to terrible AI. :)

Really? It seems that my archers miss a lot during sieges. I typically run over to one of the towers, snipe everyone on the other one and tell my dudes to assault and murder five consecutive waves of enemies. The archers serve as targets and arrow sponges.

Heh, if sieges are so easy against Nords with their OMGawesome infantry, what will happen against people with even weaker footmen? :D

BTW, I just saw the most hilarious cavalry charge ever done by nords. Imagine twenty horses chasing archers, who walk backwards and shoot and still outrun the cavalry.

I still have no idea why Nord lords don't just ride over to Swadia and buy some decent horses :P

Oh sure, they DEFINATELY miss a lot; they don't seem to actually aim at the visible target, so most of the shots end up planted into the crellenations. However, with a shield-wall in front of them your guys take very light casualities depending on terrain. Some of the castles have maps that make this tactic worthless because the enemy are split up and too high.

Heh, I just got an ivory bow, and now I can murdersnipe the shooter on those walls. Suddendly, casualties went down by an order of magnitude.

Remember guys: Ivory is the best material for making bows! It's rigid and brittle! PERFECT! :P

I think that game devs played too much Guildwars.

Ivory Bow is the ultimate gangrape weapon. If you have it you can forget about having archers in your party during sieges. You can do their work much more efficiently and invest the money in heavy infantry. Getting a 200+ proficiency with a bow when you actually start using it is a matter of a few hours.

I finished of Vaegirs and Im enroute to the last big Khergit party who is besieging a castle they lost a few days back (they have no fiefs left).

As a matter of fact, erasing a faction from existence causes Lords from that faction to join other factions. Vaegirs however uniformly joined my faction, the Holy Swadian Empire. Which on one hand is a bit awkward, but on the other... well, they teamed up with the most powerful faction, which is kinda wise on their side.

Problem is I now meet ex-Vaegir Lords that keep nagging me about how I hold their rightful fiefs. And refuse to follow any of my orders (I was elected a marshall).

Oh and a duel system is quite fun. If you get your own city a prisoner can challenge you to a duel for freedom. With a 31-level character its easy to win a 1-1 fight. However, faction leaders are still a challenge (I almost lost to Sanjar once).

I think that

No, the ivory bow is a reverse gangrape device, since it's you raping gangs of enemies, not the other way around :D

Hmm...my heavy infantry are having trouble taking Reyvadin. I need a 3-1 kill ratio to succeed, and I'm just plain not getting it.

Right ;)
Get more infantry. Becoming a marshall and getting fellow Lords to help you really makes things easier.
