So I've been looking to purchase the new Crystal Chronicles game, and I'm indecisive on which version I should purchase. One of the mitigating factors would be whether or not there is split-screen co-op on the Wii version, and my Google-fu has found inconsistent reports.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but four people can't play on the same Wii together. That's a major ****-up on SE's part.

So, Praxis, do you know anything? Or, for that matter, does anyone else?

The new Crystal Chronicles uses the "Pollux Engine," which is a fancy way of saying that the Wii and DS versions can play together, and Squeenix is utilizing the same graphics engine for both. I'm reasonably sure that's the console version.

Beats me. If there were to be a reason, it would be money-grubbing on the part of Squeenix.

I agree, but he's not the only poster to make the claim. Now, GameFAQs is rather fond of accepting rumors perpetuated by other posters as gospel (See: Brawl, Super Smash Bros.) but I'd still like to know for sure.
