Need help with Girlfriend's Laptop

Post by Straha »

Long story short:

My girlfriend's laptop started going into hibernate mode when the function short cut key was unexpectedly pressed on the laptop, and in response the computer was shut down using the power key. As a result of this lovely happenstance whenever the computer boots up in Normal mode (it runs Vista Home Basic) it promptly BSODs and reboots. The computer does, however, work in safe mode.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Does the blue screen give a stop code?

backup and then reinstall windows should clear it up.

It may be trying to restore its previous session. I believe there's a temporary file created when it hibernates that you can delete to prevent this, but I forget which one.

I'm sorry, but the number you have dialed is imaginary. Please rotate the phone by 90 degrees and try again.
