Best (PS2)Dynasty Warriors?

Post by Mr Bean »

So I've got my PS-2 working again(Gasp! A TV that accepts component cables again!) and there's a big old used Gamestop game sales going on right now and I know their stores are just loaded with used PS2 games. So I'm thinking I'll go pick up that classic of mindless violence, Dynasty Warriors. The question is... which one?

Keep in mind, it must be a Dynasty Warriors's that was released on the PS2
2, 3, 4?, Ultra Mega Death Extreme Version 5? Samurai Warriors?

I'd go with either DW4 or Samurai Warriors 2. SW2 is rather good for a Warriors game and does away with the item collecting except for weapons.

I'm torn between DW4 and DW5. DW4 had a unique Musou Mode (faction-based instead of character-based) and has the "Make Your Own Character" available for play from the start (though you have to unlock specific characters to get their movesets available for Edit Officers). DW5 had more characters, more ending videos, and a better style IMHO.

SW2 is also a good pick, as well as the SW2 and DW5 Empires games. I love those...
