HDTV input lag numbers

I'm curious how various model LCD HDTV perform with regard to input lag, as I'm looking at a new panel for myself (finally). I'm used to a very old Samsung with about 90ms of lag (measured by Rock Band, lol) and I have no issues with this level of lag at all - hardly surprising when I'm playing through a connection with 250ms of lag anyway. I've been looking at several reviews and various panels are described as having 'high' input lag, but no numbers. Are modern panels better? Is 'high' lag on a modern panel more than 90ms (once you turn off all the image processing)?

Err, for clarity, I'm talking about dynamic sources such as gaming, where input lag is relevant, and not stuff like playing movies. The primary use of the TV will be for gaming, so lag is important (if 'high' input lag is more than I'm used to anyway).

I don't think it's really an issue with modern sets. I have a cheap-ass $200 no-name brand HDTV and if there is any lag I just don't notice it when gaming.

Well yeah, but cheaper panels will have LESS lag due to a lack of all the image-processing high-end TV's do to nice up the image. Most let you turn this off, but TVs designed for 'ultra movie watching' can sacrifice real-time response for high-lag, high-quality HD playback.

So I'm looking for real numbers. I'm pretty sure my old shitbox with 90ms is what people would call 'high' now, so I'm used to it - I just don't want to buy one and find out that I'm looking at 150+ and gmes are unplayable.

I'm poking now, and some older articles have people describing 72ms lag as 'totally worthless for gaming'. This isn't relevant to the newer panels I'm looking at, but that's suggesting I'm well used to very high lag and it doesn't bother me. I'm being told that Gears active reload is 'impossible' on a laggy panel, while I can active reload just fine.

Then again, people seem to be conflating response time (black-black LCD timing) and input lag (time from video recieved to video displayed).
