Is the TF2 game actually decent?

Since the game came out, they've added / are adding:-

- Movie Soundwave
- Movie Jazz
- G1 Megatron
- G1 Optimus Prime
- G1 Starscream

and I think another(s). Why are they bothering with this? I figure the game must be at least popular in online play?

Not really.

The quintessential movie tie-in, a self-fulfilling prophecy of functional banality. On the surface it's brash, busy and superficially attractive, but underneath it's hollow, blatantly padded and more than a little monotonous. It's never much fun, but nor is it wonky enough to be terrible. It's simply there, a forgettable distraction.

In other words, Transformers fans will put up with any old bullshit in the name of transforming robots. (Also, I hear that the controls for actually, y'know, transforming and being a vehicle, are shitty)

It's not actually that bad, and the controls are FINE. People just whinge because it's different. It's eight thousand times better than the TF1 game, and as film licences go it's good. Just don't expect to hit anyone flying ever (which means multi is a complete wash).

The controls around transforming/using guns/using melee are way better than the previous stupid game. At least you can transform in mid-air this time.
