Having trouble getting the Motorola H350 headset to link up with my desktop, using the IOGear GBU421 Bluetooth micro-dongle. The dongle installs fine as a generic adapter without needing the included disc, but there doesn't seem to be any driver for this headset out there without using BlueSoleil, which I'd rather avoid (shareware)... can anyone help me in this regard, either with where I could find a PC driver for this headset (not the Motorola Web site) or an alternative to BlueSoleil?
For what it's worth, this is on Windows 7 64-bit.

Re: Bluetooth headset and PC
I recommend you download the Windows 7 driver for your bluetooth receiver from the manufacturer.

The basic windows drivers are normally quite obsolete.

Re: Bluetooth headset and PC
I was looking for a driver for the headset itself, but thank you very much! Windows identifies it correctly as a Motorola H350 but is stumped when it tries to find driver software for it. On the other hand, I definitely could use the adapter driver; any idea if these will interfere with programs like BlueSoleil?

Re: Bluetooth headset and PC
The adapter driver *should* provide everythihng you need. As an example:Edward Yee wrote:I definitely could use the adapter driver; any idea if these will interfere with programs like BlueSoleil?
Turn on headset
Sync headset to PC
Windows loads pre-installed drivers for audio/headset/etc.
I've only used BlueSoleil once and that was only to tryout my wiimote as a whiteboard sensor
I would try uninstalling Bluesoleil, reboot and then installing the drivers from the manufacturer.
As with most things in life, give it a go and see what happens, tell me how it goes.
Re: Bluetooth headset and PC
The native Microsoft Bluetooth stack does not support headsets. It's a pain in the ass to get the profiles loaded. I did it once, but I don't remember exactly how I did so. But what you need to do is find a copy of the headset profile, and load that.

Re: Bluetooth headset and PC
Sorry for the possible necro, but this method didn't really work. When the installer prompts me to plug in a Bluetooth device (I presume the USB adapter) before it can continue -- unlike the CD bundled with the adapter, there is no prompt to skip this, doing so causes Windows to install its own drivers for the adapter and several devices, while the manufacturer's own program is running. During the WIDCOMM Bluetooth software install process, Windows ends up installing a Bluetooth Hands Free something, Bluetooth L2CAP Interface, and a Bluetooth Remote Control.
Unfortunately, whatever I do, when I turn off the adapter and then back on (have to use the manufacturer's icon for this, as the Windows Bluetooth icon disappears), I get a prompt declaring that my Bluetooth radio is turned on but not discoverable, and clicking there to change this, or for that matter "Open settings" for the Windows icon, doesn't do anything... Moreover, attempting to go to Control Panel/Hardware and Software/Devices and Printers just leads to an unending loading bar with the page not going anywhere.
Beowulf, what's your headset make/model?

It was a Blueant something or other. Doesn't matter too much, we had problems getting it to wake up again after not using it for a bit.
