And no, the Shepinator face only happens to you if you're renegade in Mass 2 decisions. Their in game excuse is that your wounds won't heal properly if you're being renegade because apparently evil makes wounds heal slower. Or something.
At some point you can get very expensive elective surgery to remove it regardless of your alignment.

A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.
At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.
The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'
'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

I'm not posting ATM. Frankly, due to my problems with Dragon Age I'm scared to death that when I install ME2 tomorrow the damn disc won't authenticate and I'll be fucked.adam_grif wrote:Looks like we're in the same thread

Yeah. They say something about how being renegade causes you to have more stress and negative emotions, and the implants react badly with them, causing wounds to re-open.
And stuff.
Who knows, maybe in addition to an evil-detector they can build an awesomeness-detector next. You know, while they're finding ways to objectively measure abstract concepts.

Right so basically Renegade is now Sith Lord. Great.
One of the things I liked about Renegade in ME1 was that it wasn't evil, it was just a more harsh, ruthless and strictly business approach to things.
And now.. this? Whatever.

Yep.
I suggested simply releasing an additional version of each special armor minus the helmet, and letting people who already have them download the new version / swap between the armors based on whether they wanted the helmet or not. One of the producers, Jesse Houston, says he's looking into it as a solution.
Great success.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Every dev post is the old weaselly-dev ass-covering rhetoric...
"We couldn't because we didn't!"
It's a LOT like the stop back the "Create a Soul" mode of Soul Caliber took between 3 & 4. By tying needless stats to the armor pieces, they ended up making it much more restrictive. That's literally what their entire excuse for removing helmet toggle amounts to.
But eh... they have their money, I sincerely doubt much will come of this in the end...

I've never seen a more remarkable circlejerk of a thread before. I don't know which is more pathetic; all the complaining and wankery, or the fact that half of you seemed to have bought the game regardless of said complaining and wankery.

Yes yes, it's just terrible that people are expressing less than 100% orgasmic opinions about a game they're all still very much interested in playing - just remember - you aren't allowed to point out a bad design decision if you buy a game. Nope, even if its a relatively minor problem, you must never mention it. That's The Law.open_sketchbook wrote:I've never seen a more remarkable circlejerk of a thread before. Re: Mass Effect 2
I have absolutely no problem with nitpicking, but they are essentially going on and on about everything they hate about Bioware and Mass Effect while also playing the game at the same time. The hypocrisy is staggering, and the thread has basically been three or so people ranting on everything that gives them a rage boner... for sixteen pages.

Yeah, that look was stupid in KOTOR already (it's so hilarious because no Sith Lord in the movies ever looked like that), but with no dark side involved it's even dumberGramzamber wrote:Right so basically Renegade is now Sith Lord. Great.

Hey dumbass, half of us haven't even played the damn game. We're just observing features we think are pretty dumb and saying so.open_sketchbook wrote:I have absolutely no problem with nitpicking, but they are essentially going on and on about everything they hate about Bioware and Mass Effect while also playing the game at the same time. I don't hate Mass Effect or BioWare but if BioWare drops the ball on something I'll damn well say so.

Yeah it's like when people complain about their football team and yet still support that team! Such hypocrisy!open_sketchbook wrote:I have absolutely no problem with nitpicking, but they are essentially going on and on about everything they hate about Bioware and Mass Effect while also playing the game at the same time. The ability to recognise flaws doesn't detract from enjoyment. Do you think Hav doesn't see Bioware's creatively bankrupt 'make the same game for ten years' process? Don't be ridiculous. He likes the game anyway.
In other news can anyone confirm Xon's load time commentary in the other thread? ME1's load times were bad (for no reason) but it sounds like time-wise ME2's are worse.
Re: Mass Effect 2
I just loaded from one of the Wards to the Presidium and it took maybe 10 seconds on the 360.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I'm going to pick up the game in a few minutes. First on my To Do list is "Install the game to hard drive". That should speed 360 load times. I'd get it on PC, except I had the first one on 360, and so I'm kind of shoehorned into the console for the whole series now.
If we weren't complaining about things we didn't like it wouldn't be SD.net. We just don't comment on the things we do like, generally speaking, because "wow it's great" doesn't make for interesting, informative or funny posts.I have absolutely no problem with nitpicking, but they are essentially going on and on about everything they hate about Bioware and Mass Effect while also playing the game at the same time. Re: Mass Effect 2
There is a research upgrade you can get so your scars will heal over time regardless of Paragon or Renegade points, but yeah it's kind of an arbitrary decision by Bioware that reeks of "we want people to know if they are being a good guy or a bad ass without having to look at meters".

Re: Mass Effect 2
My x-box just ate my disk...
It's been acting up for a while now. And it's started randomly resetting... Final straw seems to have been when I picked up my controller from the top of the console, got shocked, and my hand slammed the controller back onto the console...
Reset it, and presumably caused it to eat the disk...
Damn thing's been shocking for a while... fairly often on the eject button... Seemed to solve it somewhat when I moved it from the shelf it was on (which it would heat up the space there in half an hour...) to the top of a speaker. (So all it's vent holes were fully exposed.)
At least I can take the disk back to Best Buy and claim I got it that way... The 360's past warranty and was already a replacement... Probably replace it with a Elite in a few months.

It does look cool, though, even if it makes no firggin' sense and further destroys any claims that their morality system is rad and radically different from every other oneDPDarkPrimus wrote:There is a research upgrade you can get so your scars will heal over time regardless of Paragon or Renegade points, but yeah it's kind of an arbitrary decision by Bioware that reeks of "we want people to know if they are being a good guy or a bad ass without having to look at meters".
Any word on the whole "Actions will have consequences now! For realz this time!" claim?

Well some of the things I've run into (Tuchanka) contain results from my previous game, made things easier for me I assume.PeZook wrote:
