They've recently started bundling new PS3s & 360s with HDMI cables. Not that it matters much since you can get the cables off Amazon for like $3.00.Ford Prefect wrote:Eh? Since when? No, I'm complaining that a PS3 is $100 dollars more expensive than it's 360 counterpart and whilst it does include a rechargeable controller in the box it does not include a headset. This was a minor gripe about Sony regrettably not realizing how big online play would become to the players like myself and then back onto MAG, but we can turn it into a 'bash the PS3' thread if your retarded ass wants to. Even though I've spent most of my free time for the past three days playing this console, I'm spiteful & vindictive enough to accommodate calling you a moron if you so choose.adam_grif wrote:Schatten is essentially complaining because the PS3 bundles aren't catered to his specific situation, and that he has to buy something separately.

On the other hand you have to pay like $100 extra to get wireless connectivity with the 360 at all, so it balances out.General Schatten wrote:No, I'm complaining that a PS3 is $100 dollars more expensive than it's 360 counterpart and whilst it does include a rechargeable controller in the box it does not include a headset. What's odd is, I haven't seen ANY PS3 bundles besides the old Advent Children and MGS4 bundles, and both of the 120 GB incarnations for both systems are now the same price. Are you referring to the hard drive-less 360 Arcade?General Schatten wrote:No, I'm complaining that a PS3 is $100 dollars more expensive than it's 360 counterpart and whilst it does include a rechargeable controller in the box it does not include a headset.

While that's lame, it again doesn't impact multi or the community the way bundled headsets do. MS had experience with Xbox and Live that is probably why PSN sucked so bad for ages.General Zod wrote:On the other hand you have to pay like $100 extra to get wireless connectivity with the 360 at all, so it balances out.General Schatten wrote:No, I'm complaining that a PS3 is $100 dollars more expensive than it's 360 counterpart and whilst it does include a rechargeable controller in the box it does not include a headset. Indeed its not like you are going to be moving your console around constantly.

Turns out not everyone keeps their console near their routers or wants to run a bunch of ugly looking wire through their house? Sort of how not everyone cares about multi.General Schatten wrote:Ethernet cable.General Zod wrote:On the other hand you have to pay like $100 extra to get wireless connectivity with the 360 at all, so it balances out.

People who don't care about multi don't use headsets, so what's your point?

Roll up the cable if you don't need it?General Zod wrote:

That is exactly what I do. I don't know anybody in person who is serious about multiplayer over Live that uses a wireless connection. Not bundling something as cheap as a headset is just ridiculous, that pretty much says it all about priorities. Online play the 360 is hands down better than what I've seen from people playing playstation network, but I don't actually own a ps3 so grain of salt this paragraph I suppose.
My 360 came with an HDMI cable, an ethernet cable, a rechargeable controller and some crappy games. There are various bundles of 360 though, you can get cheaper bundles with less stuff, right down to one without a hard drive. The difference in price between an Arcade, which I think is the stripped down one and the Elite is something like 25 ~30%, I really don't get why anybody wouldn't just buy the all inclusive one if you have the disposable income to buy a console in the first place.
Kind of like people whining about paying 5 bucks a month for xbox live. Seriously if you can afford a console AND a good TV AND games you should be able to afford the equivelant of two coffees a month.
