Final chapter of that trilogy, yes, but not the franchise. You didn't find all the obvious references to Kratos' brother in GoW3 to be anything other than gratuitous?Did you miss how the game confronted Kratos over his issues and then essentially resolved them? The game, beginning to end, is presented as the 'final chapter'. Hence 'my vengeance ends now', the fact he stabs himself to death and so on. That speaks to me more than 'trail of blood going off the edge of a cliff'.
This may tie in with the secret ending of the original GoW, where modern man finds the Temple of Pandora - though Cronus' fate is different than what the video says (i.e. that he lived 1,000 years after GoW - I don't think Kratos was a god for 1,000 years) he did die with the temple still on his back.Kratos, so not dead wrote:I am compelled to push onward, onto my next journey. I don't know where it will take me. Could I finally try to save HIM? He who I could not help when he needed me most. But much has changed since then, I've changed.
I can do so much more now. But he's changed too. He is surely no longer the boy he was years ago. Will he welcome me with open arms, or clenched swords? Either way, I will be back.
