WANTED: some legal way for me to play SMAC-X again
thansk to my klutzyness my disks are gone, and have been gone for a few months now. I want ot play SMAC or SMAC-X, is there any civ-iv or V mods, or other things that will allow me to LEGALLY play these old favorites?
The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin

There is a Civ 4 mod for sure, there's probably a Civ 5 one. I can't vouch for their quality or level of completion because I've never played them. You can find the Civ 4 mod "Planetfall" here.
Not sure why you would really have any moral issues with pirating a game you own but lost your discs for, but whatever.

A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.
At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.
The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'
'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'
