Instead of using the system in game, try having the host invite people through steam. It worked for White Haven and I.

To do that, bring up the steam menu in game, right click on the friend and hit 'invite to game' - It will then work as advertised.

Has whoever's hosting done the typical port-forwarding tango on their router? A pain, true, but a pain that's usually necessary whenever playing multi in locally-hosted games. Also, the Steam 'Invite to Game' function works with Magicka, and in my experience it works quite well.

Also, massive stability improvements in currently-patched versions. I just played through five entire chapters in two-player with nary a hitch.

I'm amazed at how well this game is doing. Last night I saw it was steams top seller, higher than blops, and all the other full price games.

Anyone care to hazard a guess when they'll have caught most of the bugs, or do people think its stable enough now to give it a try?

For single-player, it always was. For multi, at least two-person multi, it's quite stable now. At least with the caveat that I wasn't playing with someone on a different continent this time.

You need to portforward 27016 tcp/udp to your computer to host. Then you need to name the game something the other guy can recognise and host, probably with a password to stop randoms joining. Once the joining player can see the game, it might take a few attempts to actually join the game. Technically steamworks will notify friends if they want to join, but it is buggy as hell and fails to join half the time.

Then if you get too many people in, the game gets even more buggy. 2-3 is generally the sweet spot, especially once you avoid a bunch of magicka which are horrible at breaking triggers. Basicly avoid; teleport, anything which throws the player character around, and self-shielding is still buggy.

From what I've seen, inviting manually through steam works consistently and two player is stable and has been for a while. I haven't port forwarded either, and if I use steam invite it works fine.

Triggers are still very interesting, but it's important to remember that if things get buggy teleport can be good for getting out of them.

Alright, challenge mode is laughable when you get summon elemental because they are persistent and there is no cap on the number you can have summoned .

sedqfs sedqfs sedqfs, I can summon an elemental every second or so then just mass cast lightning on them, then ice, then water, and you get to wave 20 no problems.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'
