If you mean bulletstorm, you can download the demo for yourself.

A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.
At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.
The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'
'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

Re: Bullet talk.
I played a couple hours of "Anarchy" mode the other night; Bulletstorm's version of Horde mode. You get waves of enemies, and in order to progress to the next wave you have to score a certain number of skill points. The really annoying thing for me was that you get maybe 10 skill points for shooting a dude, and like a hundred points for kicking him into a turbine or whatever. If you want to keep progressing you basically can't ever actually use your gun unless it's a very specific circumstance.
The pace of the game is extremely ADD-fast, it's very chaotic, and the targeting is iffy at best, so basically you are flailing around goose stepping at enemies. It got old fast.
I played a bit of the campaign, the first level was basically one long "this is how you fire a gun, this is how you crouch" tutorial. The story was pretty meh, lots of gravelly "rarrrr I'm not going to die for your revenge rarrr". It felt like a caricature of Gears. I started auto skipping all the cutscenes, which is a bad bad sign for a first play through. It might have just been the first level, but it felt like there was more or less a cut scene every thirty seconds.
So far it feels like the main value I'm going to get out of this is the beta for Gears 3. I'm reserving judgement till I play the whole campaign, but it's a bad sign that I've gone back to my CE tweaked Reach customs already.

You get ten points if you just shoot him in the torso or whatever at range with the machine gun. Headshots or certain shots with other guns get you more pointsaieeegrunt wrote:I played a couple hours of "Anarchy" mode the other night; Bulletstorm's version of Horde mode. It's not "you can't ever use your gun ever" it's "go for skillshots more than just gunning them down."
But anarachy can get annoying to get enough, though if you're close with one guy to go you get a final chance team skillshot.

The "rar your revenge killed our friends" gets dropped for a "redemption via revenge" thing that would be pretentious if CoD did it, but I think it's pulled off well here. As for excessive cutscenes, I didn't think there were too many.aieeegrunt wrote: I played a bit of the campaign, the first level was basically one long "this is how you fire a gun, this is how you crouch" tutorial. It's funny how every Cracked reader seems to change occupation in between reading each article, so that they always end up being irrefutable field experts in whatever topic is at hand.-Dirty_Bastard, cracked.com commentator

Re: Bullet talk.
I sort of like the game. It's not much more than average, but it still tries.
The plot is still going to scare Pulitzers away but is not as retarded as some. You know who you are and what you are doing and why. There is an attempt at some actual tension but nothing that gets too much in the way.
Yes, the beginning of the game is pretty cutscene-heavy but that stops once you land and get the first act going.
Actual gameplay is pretty chaotic or at least has the feel of it. Some of the skill kills are not easy to do (you would be amazed how much easier is it to do a headshot with the sniper rifle rather than a nut-shut). The ability to kick, lash and dash is pretty handy although making skill-kills feels often more like a chore than a challenge.
Skill-points aren't that terribly important though. I've managed to upgrade all my weapons and I still have more than half of potential skill-challenges undone.
The game is definitely one of stress-relief types ala Serious Sam or Painkiller.

But it's definitely worth a purchase Chards, even just for the amount of insults they combine with "dick".

A head or throat shot is still only about 25 points or so. You have to average at least 100 points a kill to advance to the next wave, and the only way to do that is specialty kills. I stopped shooting unless it involved some sort of challenge.Oscar Wilde wrote:You get ten points if you just shoot him in the torso or whatever at range with the machine gun. Ya. I just found it an annoying chore. But anarachy can get annoying to get enough, though if you're close with one guy to go you get a final chance team skillshot.
With a gun yes. Too bad their points model means that 90% of your kills have to be specialty kills, so you're constantly leading with one foot. I found both booting and leashing to be pretty uneven, especially when you have a bunch of guys milling around you.Targeting is iffy? I always seem to manage to hit what I'm aiming at.
The netcode was asstastic too. I went from Gears to Bulletstorm to Reach and spent most of Bulletstorm looking at "Bad Connection" messages.
The first level was ludicrous; I think the amount of cutscene to action was on the wrong side of 1:1. Hopefully once the "tutorial" part is over things will pick up some more. The "rar your revenge killed our friends" gets dropped for a "redemption via revenge" thing that would be pretentious if CoD did it, but I think it's pulled off well here. I'm reserving final judgement till I finish the SP part, but with Gears and Reach to choose from I won't bother with the multiplayer again.
Re: Bullet talk.
Hey - since this game is so sucktacular, why don't one of you goons come play Transformers with this guy? *thumbs*

It picks up a fair bit after the crash.

Re: Bullet talk.
Well I've gone deeper into the campaign and now that the tutorial/storyline crap is over I'd say I am most certainly getting my money's worth; this game is fun and hilariously over the top.
Some highlights from the campaign thus far:

Unlike the multi I played, I do like the fact that "skill kills" are'nt even remotely mandatory, you could tactiHalo your way through as the default carbine is good enough for most enemies. You do them because they are hilariously fun.

Most of the wit struck me dry. Although the bit in the elevator with Grey and Ishi "coming on" was funny.

Re: Bullet talk.
Looks like I came across my first environmental bug. I was doing the mechosaur mission and got to the part where the dino gets electrocuted when you send him through the gate . . . and I was stuck. For no apparent reason. Gray just froze and while I could get him to turn around and even technically run, he'd stay in the same place. Ugh.
