Looks pretty fun, but I don't know why they're giving the Plasma Cannon a rate of fire more at home on a Heavy Bolter.

To be fair the old issue with plasma weapons (primarily the cannon) was power drain- you could elect to fire in low or high powered mode. Low power was constant shooting but high power cost you a turn of recharging. I like the idea that such a weapon can lower it's settings to fire more low powered shots.
As for the game, if it's not too pricey, I'll certainly get it. For the multi if nothing else, but then it is fun to play a space marine no matter what.

To me that looked a lot like the Dawn of War 2 engine, so I'm guessing it's going to be part of the next DoW2 expansion or big patch, kinda like The Last Stand, maybe to tie in with the release of the Space Marine game.

No, it's going to be an arcade game for the Xbox, I believe.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
Re: Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
No word yet on online multiplayer. If it has it (and maybe some delicious Alien Swarm style 4-player co-op?) and it comes out for PC, I'll probably buy it, depending on price. If it doesn't come out for PC... well, fewer games is the price you pay for not having a dedicated gaming device.Kojiro wrote:To be fair the old issue with plasma weapons (primarily the cannon) was power drain- you could elect to fire in low or high powered mode. (So far, confirmed for PS3 and 360. No word on PC. No word on online multi.)
Re: Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
So it's called Kill Team and isn't made for 4+ player multi or co-op? All I can find is same screen co-op. Like the way the marine can move quickly but it seems more of an effect of bad animations.

Re: Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
You are correct. The console versions (the only versions I can find confirmed) are same-screen 2-player Co-Op missions. But with several Marine chapters to choose from and multiple classes to pick I find it odd they wouldn't man up and make it a 4-player blast-fest.Meest wrote:So it's called Kill Team and isn't made for 4+ player multi or co-op? It's possible for PC they'll ramp it up for online and 4-player but I find that extremely unlikely. Having had to futz with cross-platform crap in the past I can't say I'd feel motivated to do that for a 10 dollar game again.
Making it into an Alien Swarm game would be sweet but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.
Re: Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
It looks to me like a heavily modded version of Dawn of War II, rolled out to build hype for Space Marine, coming out late this year, apparently. I mean, mone of the selling points is that you can unluck special loot for Space Marine by buying/completing it.
Space Marine does look pretty exciting to a 40k fanboy like me, this? I certainly won't be rushing out to buy an Xbox because of it.
