Proun

Have you guys seen Proun yet? It's a sort of racing game along a line in an abstract environment; rather hard to describe, but very striking. (I uploaded a clip yesterday, it's rather harder than it looks.) Anyway, I thought it was interesting, and the developers are running a 'pay what you want' promotion right now, so you might want to check it out here.

That looks pretty neat. Are the tracks fixed, or random in some way?

They're fixed, and the game comes with 4 if you just download it, 5 if you pay something. I think there might be some people adding modded tracks on their site.

Cool idea. A few years back there was a very similar game, only the difference was that you raced in the inside of a tube racetrack with some obstacles. The game was very interesting although lack of any AI limited the single player experience.

AFAIR you raced a vehicle that was attached magnetically to the track. The only way you could gain some significant speed was to maintain the connection to the track at all times. Which meant you had to take inertia into account, as staying on the wrong side of the tube during a sharp bend resulted in detachment from the track.

But that game was fairly bleak graphically, Proun is a visual wonder.
