Hey, has anybody ever had this happen? I was backing up a few minutes ago, got the error
Code: Select all
Error while copying. There was an error creating the folder X. Error creating directory: Input/output error
I hit "retry" several times, then "skip." Turned out it was doing this for everything that was left, so I just canceled, unmounted the external drive, then plugged it back in.
I have a Library folder where I store papers and books that I might want to use as references or for research. Turns out, after I got this error, when I went to open a paper I was working on during backup, it was completely empty. Searched my home folder for some of the papers I'd stored. Nothing. A couple of them, maybe 1-5% of what I'd had, turned up in my trash folder. The rest - gone. Boom.
Any ideas what caused this and if it's possible to get them back?
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
