I have an mp4 video I downloaded from Youtube that I would very much like to put on my phone as a ringtone. My phone can only play audio tracks as ringtones (the phone is an HTC Desire HD if anyone knows different).
Does anyone know of a way (that is free and relatively simple) to rip the soundtrack off an mp4 video?
Can I convert mp4 video to mp3 audio?

The easiest way would be to extract the AAC audio file from the MP4 file. YAMB can do that.

VLC can extract audio, for Android I can recommend the free application Ringdroid
