It looks intense and it pretty much confirms that Kerrigan's arc will be working to come to terms and balancing the desire between rage and redemption. I am certainly going to get it.

I didn't see anything about redemption in there. That said I like the new units, firebat looks like it's back, the zerg unit that could pull others into it seems pretty useful. Overall it looks solid.

in one of the earlier clips kerrigan refers to her crimes as "terrible" and when war field is doing the voiceasking "how many innocents have you killed" over her face looks conflicted. That implies that on same basic level she probably did feel genuine guilt for her crimes. I can link the clip.

Apparently this will be released around May 2012. Seriously? 2 years for an expansion? By the time they release the last expansion, won't the graphics be dated?

It seems like blizzard is intent on making each "expansion" into a full length game. Sure the graphics will probably be dated by the time Legacy of the Void comes out, but Blizzard has never exactly been cutting edge in terms of graphics, and they still have a fanbase.

If they play this making-the-expansion-a-full-fledged-game straight, they perhaps have the possibility to upgrade the graphics gradually. Backwards compatibility can then be an issue though.

They announced before wings of liberty that each game was a full game, not just an expansion in the traditional sense.

in 2007

but anyway, cod games take about two years for the studio to finish, despite using the same engine and animations and stuff, and they spend it carefully crafting levels, doing bugfixes and va, optimization, so presumably blizzard is doing the same, given the care for singleplayer levels in wings of liberty

There is also a shitload of stuff that goes into balancing multiplayer, and making maps for it.

And yet Blizzard still messes it up.

I didn't think Wings of Liberty was all that great, so dropping the price to expansion pack/DLC levels is about the only way I'll be buying it this.

As for the trailer... is anyone else just downright sick of Mengsk? The guy's been overthrown like a dozen times already. You'd think someone would just put a bullet in his head by now.

Blizzard's gotten a wee bit too used to the Warcraft universe, where recurring villains are legitimately durable enough that that's difficult to do.

. Anyway I like Kerrigan as a character and it would be cool to see one of Blizzard's fallen heroes achieve redemption (Arthas died and went to hell, the Wanderer and the diablo heroes were damned and were driven crazy.)

What would be more interesting would be to keep Kerrigan as a villain and to play her as an effective well written one. She was never really an "interesting character" before she was zerged, because you meet her at the start of the mission and she gets overwhelmed by the swarm at the end of it.

If it was, then it was pretty damn stupid.

Kerrigan's introduced several missions before she's captured by the Zerg.
