A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood

I dunno, I'm always mixed on these things. I don't dislike them honoring a dead fan, but on the other hand I play these games to be entertained not depressed.

That's a fair point. Still, it's hells nice for GB to do it.

being entertained often requires a deeper emotional connection then pure smirk. They didn't have to do it, but they did. no problems.

You mean it's a hells cynical marketing move to get free publicity, right?Chardok wrote:Flagg wrote:I dunno, I'm always mixed on these things. I don't dislike them honoring a dead fan, but on the other hand I play these games to be entertained not depressed.

It'd be cynical if they were the ones to come up with the idea, but it was a friend of the deceased kid who called them. So yea, it's free publicity, but that doesn't make it less nice.

Touching is exactly the way I would describe this, it's nice to see a game company that isn't afraid to show a little humanity. On a lighter note, the wedding proposal they had claptrap do was quite hilarious. And after reading this, I think I need a little laughter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fii-KPEmcMw

I don't see how this will effect your enjoyment of Blands 2. The eulogy won't be in the game, AFAIK. The guy's name will just be given to an NPC.Flagg wrote:I dunno, I'm always mixed on these things. So unless you consciously strive to remember he name and dredge up this story, you won't even notice. Those who haven't read the story have no chance of noticing.
