Some LP ideas

Post by Lord Relvenous »

I've been wanting to do an LP for a while, and I figure I've got the spare time to do one currently. There are two games I'm thinking of doing. The first is Shogun 2. I played it quite a bit when it was released, but I'm getting the TW itch again. The other game is one from the nostalgia bin: Lords of Magic: Special Edition. I just rediscovered it in an old CD case, and it'd be fun to go back and replay. It's a turn based, overland map+encounter system with RPG elements. Pretty simple game, but with some fun elements and a good amount of characters for posters to assume.

So, would you guys find it more fun to take over Japan in the name of the SDN clan, or fight against the dreaded STRAK and his evil army of undead minions?

Also, if there are any bargain games on Steam you guys want to put forward, I'd consider them.

One vote for Lords of Magic.

Also, for a game, try Startopia. At least, if it was available on Steam.

Though Rome or Medieval II are better, I vote that SDN overthrows the Shogun and installs a true MURCAN democracy in Japan.

I'll throw my hat in for Shogun if not Rome or M2, which both sound good.

Shogun sounds entertaining. I've never played it but with SDN invovled it is bound to be amusing at least.

Odds are looking good that we're going to Japan then, it's just a shame there isn't an easy rename option for Shogun 2...
This odyssey, this, exodus. Do we journey toward the promised land, or into the valley of the kings? Three decades ago I envisioned a new future for our species, and now that we are on the brink of realizing my dream, I feel only solitude, and regret. Has my entire life's work been a fool's crusade? Have I led my people into this desert, only to die?

Yeah I saw that when I was looking at it as an option.

However, I remembered this morning that I bought M:TW2 from Steam a few months ago. So I could easily do that instead. Would you guys that voted for Shogun be fine with that? That way we could get some fun character names in.

Yes, absolutely. We can even rename the factions and everything. Plus there's a hell of a lot more variety in who we can freedomize in M2.

I'll go with whichever game lets us freedomise everybody in sight.

I like everything in Shogun except samurai. Surprisingly enough this is viable. I vote for this.

I agree with chaning to Medival, to let us have our fun with character names as always, it's tradition by now!

Okay, sounds like a plan. When I picked up M:TW2, I got all the expansions as well. Now, I have actually never played the game. For those of you who have, what is the best one? Should we just stick to the original?

Playing the Americas does appeal to me, as it's just so appropriate for freedomizing.

I would recommend getting the Stainless Steel Mod. However, if we're confined to the original game, I would suggest the Grand Campaign. The expansions lack the scope of the full campaign.
