Hallo, it's me with a probably dumb question, but..
I'm looking for a multifunction printer for my home office, my favorite currently being the Canon Pixma MX885. One feature I'm interested in is the ability to send faxes, as too many institutions and companies still demand a constant flow of them and it is annoying to always have to take care of my stuff at my work office. But will I be able to use the fax functions without a physical connection to the phone line, i.e., over my wifi connection, or does it need a wire, or will I potentially require a new router with extra capabilities? I'm a bit confused with this annoyingly not-quite-completely-obsolete technology.
Thanks.

This page from Canon's support site has instructions for hooking an MX885 up through a router. Doesn't look like you can do it wirelessly, I'm afraid.
There are hardly any excesses of the most crazed psychopath that cannot easily be duplicated by a normal kindly family man who just comes in to work every day and has a job to do.
