Unless they changed the damage models for the mod, all weapons will eventually destroy buildings because all damage is hit point based, and only modified based on weapon type vs target. So you can actually destroy the tanks in game with thousands of rounds of machine gun fire. I never brought down a building with an machine gun, but it should work. The biggest buildings like that grain/ore silo complex have multiple damage stages.

The smoke grenade thing is from normal Arma 2, and actually makes some sense because white phosphorus grenades would easily set buildings on fire. The WP artillery smoke shells flatten stuff too. As I recall though they don't kill people unless your near directly hit or inside a building that is collapsed by one. Not sure though, been a while since I used one. The smoke grenades shouldn't kill because they don't burst like the artillery shells do.

Dargos wrote:I committed my first pre-meditated murder last night. :-( Just finished raiding a deer stand east of Kozlovka and was headed west. I wanted to stop by the Zelenogorsk supermarket and see if I could find anything interesting before I head off into the great northern wilderness.

I was carefully cutting through the open space between the Kustryk and Kurgan hills/mountains when during one of my quick stop and scans I noticed movement in the distance. Much too fast for a Z. I hit the dirt and pull out my Binos.
Yep..as I thought, a survivor running east to west coming out of Kozlavka. He was about 250m distant and hauling ass. I wait a second to see if he was drawing Zs behind him, or to see if he had a buddy with him. Nope, all alone.

At that moment I made to conscious decision to kill the guy. I could see that he was armed with an AK or AKM. What else might he have for me? I wait a second and then begin to shadow him. Always staying behind him at least 200m. I almost lose him going through the woods around the Kurgan hill/mountain. Had a heart attack when I almost walked right up his ass. I dropped into the bushes no less than 50m from him. He was kneeling, maybe checking his map or typing with someone. Luckily for me this guy is way too complacent. He heads north, I see now that he wants to go to Green Mountain.
He breaks the wood line and starts sprinting north. I go up to the tree line behind him and watch him run. I pull my M-4ACOG, go prone, and put my dot on his head. He is at least 150m distant. Pop pop pop. Down he goes. I wait for what seems like forever to see if my shots draw any unwanted attention. Nothing. Quick scan for movement....nothing.

I sprint to his body. My mind dreaming of the cool things I'm going to loot from this mook. GPS? NVG? Anything that would really improve my chances for survival? I get to him and search his body.
Nothing... nothing that I already didn't have. Well, except a tool box. I could use that. And some frank and beans. You can never have enough beans in this world. I look at his body and thank him. I then hide the evidence of my deed. I bury him along with what was left of my humanity, all for a box of tools and a can of beans :-(
This has to be the most pathetic gushing i've ever seen related to a video game.
Best care anywhere.
