Really interesting article on piracy
The operator of the PC tweaks website TweakGuides.com wrote up an exhaustively researched article on software piracy, DRM, etc.

His solutions and conclusions aren't anything new or unheard of . . . so how is it interesting?

Re: Really interesting article on piracy
Okay, I found it interesting. I've been following a thread on another board that's been debating whether or not X Rebirth should be a Steam exclusive, and the piracy argument is part of it. I just found it nice to read a reasoned essay on piracy that looked in deep detail at the issue and cited sources for all data, rather than going with hyperbole like 90% of the stuff on the internet both pro and con.
One of the things I found was that the data actually provides a positive correlation between strong DRM and slowed/lessened piracy, whereas popular games without DRM get pwned.

I've not read far into it yet, but I'd like to point out that this was originally published in late 2008, so some of them may have been new then. However, I have not read the entire article yet nor was I well versed in the subject at the original time of publishing, and I wouldn't consider myself well versed on it now, to be honest.General Zod wrote:His solutions and conclusions aren't anything new or unheard of . . . so how is it interesting?
