I've got a Win 7 pro box (64 bit) that for various reasons, needs MSMQ installed on it.
Going into Control Panel, Programs & Features, Turn Windows Features On/Off lets me _try_ to install it, but the only component that will actually install is the MSMQ DCOM Proxy. Anything else, I get the dialog taking its usual slowness, then aborting with another dialog saying "An error has occurred. Not all the features were successfully changed.".
I've tried running sfc /scannow repeatedly - that found and fixed a few things, but didn't fix the MSMQ problem.
Had the same lack of success installing the System Update Readiness Tool.
What else have I missed?

Re: MS Message Queueing not playing ball
Have you checked if the eventlog has a more specific error message?
Re: MS Message Queueing not playing ball
After checking, there is.
Session "OcSetup8244" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
The event data is as follows:
SessionName OcSetup8244
FileName
ErrorCode 3221225525
LoggingMode 0

Re: MS Message Queueing not playing ball
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that error means there's a problem with the logger.
So it can't provide info about the problem with the installation.
