Possible to change sensitivity of iPhone screen rotation without disabling it?

My iPhone starts out in landscape mode every time I wake it and is stubborn about switching back. Anyone know of a way to get it to stop without disabling orientation switching altogether? I tried Googling but Google assumes I'm trying to search for common things like "How do I change the screen orientation" or "How do I disable screen orientation" and gives me pages of useless results.
