Blitzkrieg - who played?

Post by K. A. Pital »

The Nival Interactive guys are too good. I recently bought the Blitzkrieg to witness their talent again. The Blitzkrieg is many times better than "Sudden Strike" or any WWII strategy. It's the best WWII RTS ever. I wonder who played it and what do you think if you did?

Sorry if this comes off as a thead hijack, but would the Red Alert series count as a WW2 sim?

Not even close :P

Back on-topic, I'm looking at it with interest. I love Sudden Strike 2, so I'm hoping this comes out well. Not sure if its out in the US or not yet.

EDIT: It should also be noted that these aren't really strategy games... more like real-time tactical...

If you like Sudden Strike 2 then you'll certainly love BK. It's much better than SS. All the vehicles are 3D, and the terrain, too. And it's more realistic.
P.S. It should be out now, I think, according to Nival. I got the Iron Cross II already, heading for I. Woohoo! Fear the Wehrmacht.
P.P.S. I know they are not RTS and not even RTO (real-time operations), but RTT (real-time tactics). Still, the game genre is defined as RTS, so I just stick with this definition.

I've played the demo for Blitzkrieg, and it was quite impressive gameplay-wise, though the vocal cues get extremely irritating after a while (if you're playing the allies anyway)

It isnt going to be out in US till May, meanwhile i purchased Sudden Strike 2. I hope that Blitzkrieg isnt like this game in the operations. SSII you cant change equipment, get more, or even assess your captured equipment.
