See if any are from Tassie. If they are I probably know them (its Tassie, everyone knows everyone. Its kinda like Tennessee, but not inbred) and can supply you with embarrassing gossip re: them. The Yosemite Bear wrote:I live in the Wilderness, It took me 11 trys just to get the last UPDATE from blizzard/battle.net, I scooted around on my old account right after I got LOD and I was getting bitched at for having a slow connection. I remember that, in the early days of JK on the Zone (before it became MSN). If you were a newbie, you could usually either A) find a clan, with good people who'd help you out (most of the "old time" clans, for example, will still do that. Or at least when I left), or B) do a training game with a more experienced gamer. I found myself in a number of those, and the people I had them with were very nice, and never made fun of me for the most basic of newbie mistakes. That was, for me, the Good Ol' Days. Before the "l33t" crap that eventually flooded Nar, and those fucking "l33t" clans in WoW and such (I blame BSC for a lot of that shit; destroyed the community all to Hell).JediNeophyte wrote:Wow, nice. IMO, Kohan had a very solid online community as well. My first multiplayer game, my teammates tried to help me out and were friendly despite my n00bness. I died pretty quickly anyways, but still

For all you Warcraft III people who play on US West, channel TPCnet (the channel of CampaignCreations.org) is n00b-free and usually full of interesting people to talk to and/or play with.

The funniest thing is the idiots who goes "I WIN!" when their team wins, and that person hadn't even been in the top scoring half of the team. And just as stupid are those idiots who whinge all day about newbies, and score just as badly as the above.

I take the piss out of anyone in games I play who uses 1337. Indeed, I even mock them in 1337 to get back at them. Or I just shove a flashbang down their underderps, then drop a smoke grenade at their feet and call for everyone to use the "point" emote and then do the "Nelson: Ha-Ha" at them.Lord of the Farce wrote:The funniest thing is the idiots who goes "I WIN!" when their team wins, and that person hadn't even been in the top scoring half of the team. I remember one time, in a game of CS, I happened to be killed pretty quickly in the round without getting a kill, myself. Some other shmoe started the whole "noob, u suck" routine.
Ten minutes later, when I had 20 kills and still only one death, the same guy was calling me a "hacker".
I guess the game really encourages people to simply be mediocre. If you're not wonderful and amazing, they mock you, and if you are wonderful and amazing, they mock you. Fuckin' dumbasses.

The only game I play online a lot is Diablo2. It is that way. Someone don't like the gear you're wearing, they call you a n00b. If you thwart a Pker, they'll yell and accuse you of 'hacker' or 'ITH'. You get Level 1 characters entering your "Act4: Kill Diablo" game who wants to "party party party (spam)" or "Rush me!" or "I ned Itemz".

I detest the PK'ers....though my Druids usually lay the smack down on them whenever they are about....it's especially amusing Hardcore when a PK assasin loaded up with poision stuff and the like came after my druid Caoimhin...they hit me, it took a 1/10th of my life away, I turned round, landed one hellish hit and they ended up dead....I turned around and carried on my way....Ravencrow wrote:The only game I play online a lot is Diablo2.
