Windows strikes again...

OK, this is pissing me off. I'm stuck using Win98 at the moment and I was trying to edit some .php files... only problem is that it wants to use "PhotoParade.exe" to do it

. Anyone know how to change what a program opens with in 98?

First, open up Windows Explorer. At the top it should say "View." Click on that then click on "Folder Options." Then click on the "File Types" tab and select the file type you want to change. Click edit, and then select the action you want, or create a new one, eg "open." And simply enter the full name of the application you want to use or browse around to find it. Click OK, then OK, and then OK again.

Easy way:

Shift-right click the file.
Go to Open With.
Choose the program you want to open it.

Done.

Alternatively, copy a shortcut for your favourite text editor into the "SendTo" folder in your profile (on Win98, it's in the Windows directory). Then, you can click on any file and use the "Send To" function to make it open in that editor.
