Video game movies - who do you pick...

Post by weemadando »

Which actor/actress is best for each role?

Hitman - No.47?

I'd say Christian Bale, he looks right (should he shave his head) and is a great actor to boot.

Halflife - Gordon Freeman and the G-Man

Edward Norton for Gordon and I'd have to say Christopher Walken for the G-Man.

Monkey Island - Guybrush Threepwood and Governor Elaine Marley

This is tough and I don't have a clue myself.

Other movies/actor suggestions/comments?

Jim Carrey for Guybrush? Can't think of any comedic actors that can do action that look the part.

Quake - Bruce Willis. I'd like to see him blast a few Hell Knights with his rocket launcher or sizzle a Shambler with the Thunderbolt... :D

Deus Ex - Jude Law for JC Denton. Put the fucker in dark glasses and a long jacket, and he's an instant badass.

All I know is that LeChuck absolutely must be played by Bruce Campbell.

And Jim Carrey's way too old to be Guybrush.

You know, I've been wondering who would play who in a Legend of Zelda movie. I can't seem to pin donw one person for any of the characters. Although Ben Affleck would probly ruin the part of LInk.

I think a younger John Cusack would be wicked for Guybrush.

I don't think that there are alot of parts Ben Affleck wouldn't ruin. Personally my Ben Affleck favorites are from Dazed and Confused and Phantoms because "Affleck was the BOMB in Phantoms!".

Man, I'd fucking hate Jude Law in that role. I can't stand him in most of the things he does anyway. This is one where Ben Affleck might *just* fit in.

IMO, there is no way Monkey Island could be live-action. I think a Dreamworks series (quintoligy?) of movies would be great.

Hell yeah, I can see Monkey Island getting the "Road to El Dorado" treatment - just hold the singing.

In which case, just use the voice actor from the video game to do Guybrush. I would want a different VA for Eleane though, and probably for LeChuck as well.
