Compaibility mode for Windows 98.

You have to apply it to the Tie95 executable.

X-Wing seems not to need it.

Direct3D mode doesn't work, but thanks! Now, if only they kept the old music engine...

Anyone in the UK wanna buy the game and ship it to me?

Also,
Question: Why the hell did LucasArts stop doing sims like this? I don't want all this prequel crap, I want OT space sims!!!!! The Death Star Trench run using new pretyy graphics would be awesome... (i still remember the DStar run on X-Wing, it was fun as hell, even if everything looked like big squares)

There was a falling out between Totally Games and LucasArts, or so I heard.

But they still make POS games such as Jedi Starfighter. I wouldn't care if they used that game engine and just changed around the ships/missions (like they did with Galactic Battlegrounds :)), but I WANT NEW OT SPACE SIMS DAMNIT!

You have to download the Winblows Compatibility Kit, and use it to "change" some flags in the executable. Like disabling 3d acceleration and some other thing. Don't remember exactly, it's in some website.

1. Download the Application Compatibility Toolkit 2.0 for Windows XP from here:

DA KIT

2. Install it

3. Run QFixApp

4. Click Browse and choose the path to TIE95.EXE

5. In "Layers" tab, click on Win95

6. In "Fixes" tab, DISABLE "EmulateJoystick"

7. Click on "Run" to run TIE Fighter 95 and it should work now

Maybe after some windowsupdate patch, but it didn't for me back then (I've played this game since I have XP, and that's about 3 months before it was officialy out :D)

I was the Emperor's Hand, had all the medals and beat the game, including the expansion.

By the way, does anyone have a picture of the completed tattoo that you get on your forearm? I think that my tattoo had some sort of graphical glitch, because it didn't really look complete even though I was the Emperor's Hand.

How many times were you summoned before the secret order for getting raised to the next circle? There are 9 circles:
-1. Circle
-2. Circle
-3. Circle
-4. Circle
-5. Circle
-Hand of the Emperor
-Voice of the Emperor
-Eye of the Emperor
-Arm of the Emperor (Don't know exact name, because I got the German version)

Emperor's Reach is the proper term for the very last rank in the Secret Order.

I was hardcore. Beat it on hard- got absolutely everything. Those were the days.

Now, after reading this thread, I'm going to try and get it running on XP ... Win95 compatibility mode eh ...

If you get more than 2.625.000 points, then you are really good, and better than me.

Anyone who got more?

I reached the Emperor's Reach, forgot how many points I got, and finished all of the secondary missions besides 9-2, the tugs seemed to get stuck in space so they couldn't capture the disabled T/Ds. :(

Ah, good ol' TIE fighter. I love that game. Especially when I get invulnerable/unlimited weaponry,

I loved that game, but I haven't played it in a long time. Wish they would put out updated versions of all the X-Wing/ TIE fighter games.

Ah yes, I completely forgot that it was The Emperor's Reach. That was the rank I had attained, not the Emperor's Hand.

Anyone have a picture of the tattoo?

Here's one. Unfortunately the graphics are small.
