40k rules question.

Post by Tasoth »

I've just recently seen that they've released Tau Pathfinders with railguns and the question is this: Where can I find the Rules for them?

Games Workshop may have some information on this, or they might put the rules in a supplement or magazine.

Great - now the Tau have INFANTRY that can pierce the front armour on a Leman Russ. There is something so very very cheese monkey about this.

Argh. Oh well, I never field an armored company against Tau anyways.

Unlike most armies Tau troops do not varry heavy weapons, these new models simply balance that out, and make it so people will actually by pathfinders.

!!!!

They don't need more heavy weapons for their infantry, they've already got extra-long range bolter-like guns and those goddamned drones. Then their damn broadsides blow up my Leman Russ tanks and those fucking god-weapon railguns on their damn hover tanks are ungodly powerful.

Though I guess I shouldn't complain too much, my Command HQ + Commissar defeated two crisis suits in hand-to-hand combat.

Tau Pulse rifles have an AP of 5 which means they're screwed against SM or shocktroops. does anyone else have that feeling of a tau-necron showdown?

IIRC, the new Infantry-Railguns are a Pathfinder-only option and are weaker than a standard Railgun.

Why would the Necron fight the Tau? The Tau are into tech, the Necron are into tech, there might be an alliance. The Necron can't stand the warp, the Tau can't use psykers (no psyker gene), the Necron have advanced tech, the Tau are catching up quick. The Necron could contract out a few projects.

It will be one of convenience, but still, an alliance?

Allowing a single, weakened Railgun into a Pathfinder squad is no different than allowing SM Scouts to have an Autocannon...
