Buy a faster connection.

Everything else is marginal at best.

There was a lot of talk a while back to change the tcp/ip frame and stuff, it's all bull and I have newer seen any proof of speed increasement.

And yes I did test some of that.

Timed 3gb FTP transactions to a remote office with and without the tweaking.

Could not find any noticeble difference in speed.

Nothing. Any software either has minor changes in various TCP/IP settings (almost meaningless) or attempts to download stuff on the site you're at, hoping that you'll go there.
