Damn Lag!

Ok, I just downloaded the 7 day trial of PlanetSide (I love that game...). So I'm going around, getting into a few minor fire fights here and there, but everytime I'm about to fight for my life whether it be 1-1 or in a large battle I get lag from hell!! And by the time I catch up I'm dead, I have a pretty good computer, I don't know how good but I know it's pretty up there. Is there anyway I can reduce the lag I am experiencing or am I horribly screwed?

Well, is the "lag" caused by latency and packet loss or is it a low FPS? You should be able to enable some status window somewhere that can tell you that stuff.

The lag is an acknowledged coding problem that they have been working on fixing.

And here I thought the thread was here to complain about ME...

If Planetside gets better, let me know. I have been toying with the thought of trying that game, but would be highly loath to paying good money for crap.

I put graphics on low quality and that helped some (And staying out of the big ass fights helped too), and there wasn't much of a loss of graphics either. It's definately worth the 7-day trial. And it doesn't seem like much of a cost to pay, 3 months is $35(?) dollers.
