Heads up, OE users.

Microsoft appears to be killing OE off, though if they'll continue to implement security updates is yet to be seen.

Just read it a few hours ago.

This is probably a good thing, as it will convince those who won't move to Outlook to move to something better.

Well they are killing IE too. Those who want a better browser w/o buying a new OS will have to move on to something else too.

Then again, MS is probably not going to sit idly by.

They're killing IE?! Where's the sense in that? Not that it matters that much to me I tried out Mozilla thanks to soem people's praise here and I like it so much that it has become my defaulty browser at home. I guess I decided to switch in time.

Well not killing it, but only making new releases with new OSs.

Still that means no new versions of IE until Longhorn comes out, which will be a while.

It feels almost as if Bill Gates has unzipped his trousers, whipped it out and said: "Yo! Anti-trust laws, suck my dick!" No new standalone IE unless you buy the latest version of Windows? Weren't they dragged to court the last time because IE was so tightly integrated with Windows?

Okay serious question, I really like Netscape's 7.1 'tab' feature (where you don't have 2000 and 1 open screens). Is Netscape a good browser or should I try something else? And if so do any of them have the tab feature?

Netscape is based on Mozilla, which has nearly all the features of NS, minus the AOL stuff, plus built in pop-up blocking. In fact, if you install NS and then Mozilla, they will share the same settings (preferences, bookmarks, etc.). Firebird is the bare-bones version of the browser, without the HTML editor and e-mail program, so I assume it has all the same features as Navigator.
