Blades and Barmaids version 2.5

Post by Arthur_Tuxedo »

The Big Book is now at version 2.5. There were 2 changes from the last version.

1. The Trait and Weakness system has finally been fleshed out. Now there are many more Traits and Weaknesses of a varity of different magnitudes.
2. The version is now displayed at the bottom of the first page.

Next items on the agenda are a similar fleshing out of the magic system, finishing the expanded example of play, and updating the table of contents.

Version 2.51 is now up. Only changes are things I thought I had already done, but forgot. Damage is now no longer a Skill, and Critical Hits have been rebalanced to be less uber (had abandoned the system that was in there a long time ago and didn't realize I hadn't updated the Big Book to reflect it).

EDIT: Also re-thinking naming the system "d10", mostly because d10.com is taken. I'm thinking "Tensided". The Tensided system. Has a nice ring to it I think.

Other possible names (just brainstorming, so the stupid ones are just that...stupid):

Decadie

Diamond (because of the shape of 10-siders)

D-Ten

10sider (play on your idea)

Diamond has a..ring to it (sorry, bad pun). But I kinda like it, nonetheless.

I like Tensider even better than what I had. Thanks. :D

New update. Version 2.53. Lots of minor changes and inconsistences fixed. Most of the changes are to chapter 4 (the combat chapter).

Not sure if anyone's reading this thread anymore, but v2.54 is posted. More minor fixes, but most importantly I realized that I never really spelled Damage and Resistance out, two of the game's most important concepts. I only referred to them tangentially. Also from now on new or updated sections will be colored in blue so that returning visitors can see what's changed without reading through the whole damn book every time.

v2.56 is up now. The expanded example of play is done. The table of contents and example character sheets are still way out of date, but the downloadable template sheet is up to date.

Arthur: I'm still back on (I think) 2.53, but I noticed one error in that version. The Whirlwind ability (reduce multi-attack penalties by 1) and the multi-attack rules didn't agree on what the penalty was. Whirlwind suggested it was -2/-4 for two and -2/-4/-6 for three, while Chapter 4 said it was -1/-3 and -2/-4/-6. Not sure if you've fixed this or not, just giving you a heads up.

Gerard already noticed that and it's fixed now. Thanks anyway, though. :D

Hey, always glad to try to help :D .

If I spot anything else, I'll let you know (I'll probably wait to download the latest version until I move in on Sunday, though...I only have CD-Rs, and B&B isn't quite important enough to earn more than 1 slot on my CD  ).

Version 2.571 is up. Nothing major. Expanded example of play cleaned up, Multiple Actions rules, Free Swings, and Charging cleaned up and typos fixed.
