I hate my internet connection

So very, very much. It has this weird little habit of disconnecting me, but not realizing it, and then taking several minutes for it to finally "disconnect" even after I hit the disconnect button. Its especially annoying since it always seems to happen when I'm having fun conversations with people on AIM, and they stop recieving messages from me, and vice versa, but I'm still listed as online. It really pissed me off tonight, it kicked me off every few minutes (after pulling that crap at least 6 times), and took that same amount of time to reconnect.

Anyway to fix this?

EDIT: FUCK! It did it again, while I was writing this up.
