Son of a bitch this game kicks ass. I just got it and I've gotten my ass kicked seven times till sunday, and its one fucking good game. They have taken all they have learned from the previous Rainbow 6 titles as well as Ghost Recon and applied it to this. Finaly we get to see the soldiers carrying the guns, and they are all so well done. Firing of the weapons is realistic as is the modifications. The graphics are stunning.

Anyway I've already found the joys of using a USAS-12 to clear crowded rooms

I love it, my only complaint being the continued lack of in-game voice chat. Radio hotkeys just do not compare to live chat. I want to play through the entire campaign online with real, live humans on my side in constant radio contact. That would own, hardcore.

I must get online and play this game. Fuck the new changes to the Rainbow 6 series are incredible. Rogue Spear was nothing compared to Raven Shield when it comes to radical new changes.

Well, that and the mission planning thing, while a great idea, is a little boring for me, and the reward isn't all that great (I never played SP much in Rogue Spear...I got up to the first infiltration mission and gave up after several failed attempts to get it right). But that's my own flaw and not so much the game itself.

I must get online and play this game. Fuck the new changes to the Rainbow 6 series are incredible. Rogue Spear was nothing compared to Raven Shield when it comes to radical new changes.

Yeah, wait until you see what happens when you get caught in tear gas or have a flashbang thrown your way. It's pretty wild stuff.

Frankly, I'm just glad my biggest issue with the game was resolved: finally they have silencers on the damn sniper rifles!

And there's so much to love about the game...like my precious G36K...

The G36K has already become my new primary battle riffle. Built in scope and you can attach a silencer.

As for Sniper Rifles. They put a silenced weapon in one of the Rogue Spear add-ons. Problem was the Ai didn't realize the weapon was sillenced. They always came running, even from far away, to find out what that impossibly quiet noise was.

Or a 100 round double drum, for those missions when just dead isn't good enough.

I once racked up 12 kills with 82% accuracy inside of two minutes or so with the silenced G36K in this one game online.

Huh, I wasn't aware of that. *shrugs* Ah well.

That poor implementation is pretty funny though.

That game took the great lineage of Rainbow6, Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon and proceeded to smear faeces on it.

The AI for both buds and enemy was appaling and the new movement system was for the majority of the time, quite frankly useless. And I won't even start on the quite frankly ludicrous system reqs as well as the goddamn draconian copy protection which made LAN play nearly impossible (even WITH a group of people with originals).

I like it, but I thought more could've been done with it:

1. Realistic ballistics: the superb, entirely overlooked SWAT 3 had realistic ballistics. It also had superior graphics in every department. I don't understand how a game released 2 years before Raven Shield can look BETTER.

2. Better guns: The gun models SUCK. The AK-74 is especially appalling.

3. Weemadando's complaints are valid

4. More imaginative missions

5. Better uses for snipers- the ranges in the game make it a waste of time

I give it 80/100.
