BAD ASS Game I got yesterday.

I have a PS2, Xbox, Good computer, and a GC (Yes, I'm a gamer :snicker:

) I got a game yesterday that is like CRACK for me (And my brother, who visits often, but will be ofterner now, methinks.
DYNASTY WARRIORS 4 for Xbox.
Oh...my...God....
For those of you who aren't familiar with it. you are in a war, right, and you pick one of many generals to be. (like, samurai-style generals) You start out with a crappy weapon and two wimpy little bodyguards and participate in campaigns. Third person view-like. and you run around and KILL STUFF!! the more enemies you kill (lightened up by calling them Ko's, even though you practically liberate heads in the game. No blood, either) you get like, combo attacks, power attack....and get this: The more you kill generals, the better you get with your weapon, and the better weapons you get, and the more attack/;combos you get! It's like final fight on CRACK! and with two players it's even better!!! Sometimes, if an enemy general hates you enough, they will challenge you to a duel! right there in the middle of the WAR! FUNFUNFUNFUNFUN!!!

Sounds like maybe I should get it... but argh, so many other games are coming out... Halo for PC, Half-Life 2, Homeworld 2, True Crime...

Yes, Dynasty Warriors 4 is great, especial when you get Pan Tong. Too bad there is no Pc version, you could get away with a massive Lord of the Ring's type mod then.

YA HEY! I'm *NOT* the only DW addicted fool on SD.NET!
I'd love to play it on Xbox... indeed if I'd known it was coming out I woulda bought one. Does it have 4P? Does it fix the popup? *drools*

And yes, DW4 and AC3 are console games I'd kill important members of state to see ported to pc, just for the multi

Did anyone else start turning off their bodyguards when they started getting in the way to much, and taking too many of your good kills?

Naw, in DW 4 their AI is significantly Improved. they are quite helpful in the more advanced missions. I leave them on attack the whole time to get their experience up so I get elites. then I equip them with bows. Insanely useful with bows especially when fighting REALLY tough fuckers like Lu Bu.

As an aside, FUCK LU BU! THAT COCK SUCKING ASSPIRATE RAPED ME LIKE 15 TIMES. so I played free mode for a few hours, got Cao Cao's sword power/life/musou up and went back to the battle of Guano (Guan Du) and stuck my sword up his ass and went all quisinart on him.

Fucking Lu Bu.

He's actually a lot more powerful in the first mission than he is most other times you fight him. Considering that I had a fully amped character with heavy duty items, and he was still giving me a little trouble, I feel that they rip you off when it comes to experience for him in that first fight.

I'm going to try it on hard mode and use the "Let Lu Bu Rape me until I get true musou attacks then run away while my meter fills and jump backwards to hit him from behind" tactic...perhaps you get more exp on hard mode....

You do, but not enough to compensate for the trauma he inflicts upon you. I'd suggest going in with 8 Elite bodyguards o' doom, and not letting him get any hits on you, its far too easy for him to kill you, even from full health.

I have only one complaint about the DW series - your character is not locked to the original stat proportions. What I mean is, Lu Bu starts off with good stats relative to everyone else, but at the high end everyone's starts are the same. I'd rather the system allowed you to add 50 or 100 points to each stat instead of the universal max, because they way it is now a fully pumped Lu Bu has as many hits as Diao Chan. And that, gentlemen, is silly. Another example - one of my friends plays as Guan Yu. He complains that at the start he was stronger than my Zhao Yun, but at the end we were both the same, which makes the choice of character moot.

Treu, but it's the journey that counts...end result being the same, granted, but you had to work alot harder to get alot more life+10 and musou+10.

Plus Zhao yun is a pansy.
But not as gay as Zhang He....

Zhao Yun might be a bit fancy, but he gets the best lines

All time favourite - Xiahou Dun. I love a guy with an eyepatch - specially since every level, they pronouce his name differently! zee-how doon? shao-yu dun? Who KNOWS?

And the multi aspect isn't much fun because of the equal highend stats... any pc multi port would need to fix that.
