Super-Twinky!

Post by SirNitram »

Those that know Aberrant know how twinky it can get. Hold onto your pants. Here comes the biggest twink I could craft from the system.

This uses alot of stuff in the Teragen sourcebook and the Aberrant Player's Guide, which I'll try to explain as we go.

First, this guy is a Teragen member, with the 'Marvel' archetype. This means that he accepts the idea that Novas aren't humans, and believes himself to be an emerging God. He should do stuff that's flashy. Exact stat layout is up to you; the only requirements are that Social be the primary, with a 5 in Manipulation. Backgrounds are less nebulous: Get a 2 in Mentor(Teragen), and a 2 in Node, and a 1 in Backing(Teragen). For Freebies, spend 7 on an extra point of Quantum, and 8 on 4 points of Willpower. Nova points are spent thus: 9 on three more tainted Quantum(Brining the total Quantum to 5, and Taint to 4), 15 on 5 tainted points of the Teragen power Node Spark(Taint is, holy toledo, 9). The remaining 6 Nova Points should get 1 Mega Manipulation, and shitloads of your favorite abilities/backgrounds.

I'm sure you're now going 'holy cow, 9 taint!'. That is alot of taint. But, since this guy is a Marvel, and he has a Mentor, all 9 points of Taint can be traded for 9 points of Chrysalis. The difference? You, the player, get to choose the aberrations(Hrm. I'd like glowing eyes, and an anima banner, and..), and, more importantly, you can enter a cocoon like state. Do this immediately. Each point of permenant Chrysalis can be traded for 3 XP, and while in Chrysalis, many things can be bought at a reduced price(But cannot be bought tainted). Bingo: 27 XP. How the next phase of the Twink goes is up to how you want to spend. You can use Chrysalis to purchase Quantum 6 cheaper than normal(Current level x 4, or 20), gaining no additional Taint/Chrysalis. Or, you can horde the XP through the change, and when you're out, buy Quantum 6 for (Current level x 5, divided by 2, or 13), and then Quantum 7(15) when you've gotten one more XP.

Following this, you now have a dice pool of 12 for Node Spark. Each success grants you a dot in a power or mega-attribute, or an extra or enhancement, temporarily. You're the Team's Everyman, the guy who can, literally, do it all. But we're not done. Godhood awaits. Gain enough XP to purchase Quantum 8, either buying it Tainted or Chrysalis style. Gaining XP isn't too hard, comparatively, as you can load up on Chrysalis from Node Spark(Each 1 rolled on Node Spark grants a point of temporary taint that can be converted to Chrysalis. Just use your Willpower to avoid Botches. Botching Node Spark gives you temporary taint equal to your dice pool.. Which you /can't/ convert.). Once at Quantum 8, Node Spark up. Spend some of those temporary willpower points. You want the power Quantum Supremacy, with the technique Quantum Transformation. It's roll is Quantum Supremacy + Manipulation. If you have some spare successes, grant yourself 'Mastery 2' as an extra. Roll Quantum Transformation. This power grants you 3 Nova Points per success to either add or subtract to someone. With Mastery 2, this is now 15 Nova Points per success.

I don't think I need to walk people through it past here. However, the truly sick will note that it's easy to ascend to Quantum 10 once here, and to gain Mastery 3 for Quantum Supremacy. This will make each success on Transformation counts as 60 Nova Points. These can even be used to turn Baselines into Novas, or convert your friends into living paragons as well. Or, most worryingly, you can glance at a rampaging Nova and turn him back into a Baseline.
