i guess ive been gone for a while .... linux questions
Hrmm, well since last visit i aquired a new computer. Blah blah blah details not need - execpt for the fact that ive got a U.s. Robotics 56k voice yadda yadda. I have redhat 8 ¬_¬ - ive been trying to connect to the internet but the computer just isn't havin it. It doesn't detect a modem, and when i send it to com3 but it freezes when i try to activate the connection - any suggestions ? =/

Well, it's not a Winmodem, is it? Those can be hard as fuck to get working.
If it's a regular PCI modem, then I'm not quite sure what would be the problem. Most Linux distros since the 2.4 kernel came out have included support for most hard modems...

It used to be very bad (since the modem functions are done in software, if you don't have that software you're screwed) but recently the LinModem project has been working on recreating that software so that the modems will work.
