I wonder how much effort it would be to get a workable Linux distro on it? ;)

Well, speaking of Linux, on /. another posted turned up this: the Lionstracks keyboard. It was designed and built around Linux, although it is a bit slower (the Pro version only has an Athlon XP 3000+).
