Caoimhin and I were always faster than the Ai in gaining planets and transport ships...we knew...because he was always the psykic one...it just seems like they cheat...but really..it's just due to not having to use a mouse to do things.
Xcom ; Standing proud and getting horrifically murdered by Chryssalids since 1994
ArchMage wrote:most annoying was the Quake 3 AI on the hardest levels. they just made the computer do like 4 times more damage then usual and never miss as long as they can see you.. if i remember correctly.
that can be applied to any FPS in general i guess
Actualy the AI does not cheat in Quake 3. The bots have super accuracy but their weapon power is same as regular.
They don't cheat, they just have a *REALLY* good aimbot.
Get the drop on 'em and hit 'em with a big gun, and they're toast. Don't forget the butter and/or jelly...
With enough practice even "nightmare" level bots can be managed. I once became as accurate as an aimbot.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
I don't know if it's a cheat or extreme realism, but in Championship Manager my team of international superstars can still get beaten by a lowly third divisin team in the FA Cup. Giant killing is part of the FA cup tradition, but still it irks me a bit.

In BF1942 the bots are so inhumanly good at calculating ballistic trajectories, regardless of altitude differences, they snipe individual infantry with the bazooka from nearly beyond the drawing distance.
A. They seem to intentionally go out of their way to shoot you/and or run you over with tanks. They also like to, no matter where you on are the map, zero in on you and kamakazi the plane on your head. (they do this to me at least).
B. Pistol sniping. THey are actually able to one shot head kill with a pistol from nearly beyond scope range.

A lot of that is memorizing the all the keyboard commands. It's easier to punch in HOME-->c then it is to scroll all the way across the map, click on the home base, click Train SCV (or whatever)...
Homeworld:Cataclysm research bug.
By uncompressing the game sources you could change a file and the changes were applied to the game without being noticed.
This one was never patched
Homeworld 2 movement bug.
By clicking a special order you were able to control the enemies units. Very interesting especially for MP games.
This one was actually patched, but it was still one of the worst things i know.
Super Tecmo Bowl:
The more you get ahead in a game, the better the performance of the other team's players. Around the time you start leading them by 60 or so, their center starts running faster than Bo Jackson and hitting harder than LT... just to make it interesting.

Agreed. I tend to hotkey my Command Center, production buildings and scanner.
