Baldur's gate: Dark alliance
Rating-
I wasn't a big fan of the orignial baldur's gate on the PC but my brother told me to check this one out and i had fun with it. It has good graphics, music, and the animation is really good considering on how small the characters are on screen. The Frame rate is excellent (on the PS2 not on the GC so much) running at around 60 most of the time. It is a pretty good storyline but the problem is that the story is explained by just one person talking to you and it can get pretty boring, there is no interaction between two computer controlled characters. I like the fact that there are so many different type of enemies in each realm you visit, not just a colored variation. The experince system works well and the inventory system is great because you can literaly see what you character is wearing as there is a model on the side of the screen. One of the major problems i had is with the end of game. It felt very rush and thrown together. The ending is disappointing also, very short and open (Obviously for the sequel which is out now). But overall it is a good game, plays like a much deeper gauntlet game. Has ok replay because of the three characters to choose from and different level settings but pretty much you'll probably just want to play this game once.
