Cross posting from the E3 thread on Something Awful.

Ace, can't forget:
"Yes, the PSP does have more interesting games than the PS3"
I hope Little Big Planet becomes the standard for Presentations taking out Powerpoint.
I can hear the audience giggling. This is adorable as all fuck.
etc.
I think it would be awesome of the following part of the presentation is done with the next game, so have Kratos kill charts and shit.
Immediately followed by lots of
Oh god, why talk about PS2?
PS3: Here's our two games.

PS2: 130 games upcoming!
I think Sony's current strategy is to push the PS2 as their "casual gaming entry console" and focusing on the PS3 as the hardcore gaming and blu-ray platform.
That's the smartest take on expanding the gaming market I've heard all day. It all makes sense now!
lolololol

Fat Princess
Holy shit it's ICO with a lardass
Video sevice available TONIGHT woah
Well, since MS announced something similar yesterday, Sony better hurry up and match what is on the 360 already.
It might be boring, but at least it isn't outright embarrassing like the MS and Nintendo conferences was.

MS at least showed some goddamn games.
A kid's package with a sexual innuendo, how cute.
Didn't he say that 2008 was the "year of software" or something? They've gone the last 30 minutes without showing one single full game.
A goddamn idiot wrote:Well with the new home, video service, google partnership, new psp games, resistance 2, 130 ps2 games, etc,[ I'm really glad I got my 60 GB PS3 still.
Which of those is totally irrelevant to his ps3 :D

Oh shit:
Oh he did not just bring up SOE's track record as a positive.

Then again he decided to forget Star Wars Galaxies.
"We're just now figuring out how the hell to program for this thing".
2008 is about software!
(Here's 2 games now let's talk about our online platfom offering movies and TV shows, then talk about our untapped hardware potetntial.)
"Now here's some games you can get on other consoles... and Resistance 2 and LBG"
Clamoring for Kratos. Yep, you're witty.
No gameplay footage of GoW3? Are you kidding me? Are you fucking kidding me?
2010 is really the year of the PS3!
I still cannot believe they're taking out BC entirely. "Hey, we have the most successful console ever made, with hundreds of great games, but if you want to play them on our new console, you're shit out of luck!"

The worst part is, it costs them almost nothing to have at least software-based backwards compatibility. There is no logical reason to take the feature out. God damn it, I'm really pissed.

Was "Collapse: Devastated World" there? I kinda caught the game early and I find it awesome.

Look at trailers: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/3180.h ... ckThisGame

You have SWORD FIGHTS in post-apocalyptic world. And magic. And monsters. And a duel with a guy in a cape. What more do you want?
Credo!

Right, because 130 PS1 games were released when it was 9? Because at E3 of the same year, Sony spent a full 20 minutes blowjobbing their success...in the last console?

Face it, Sony had nothing. They improved over time, but they showed a grand total of 5 neat games on the PS3. They have good stuff on the PSN, but you don't run a console off those games. The PSP stuff looked neat, but again, you don't run a divison off that.

Sony has a number of great games on the horizon but, we're not going to see them for a really long time. Microsoft had gameplay Sony just had trailers, really good trailers but, gamers aren't patient.

Wow, the Sony and Nintendo conferences sound like arse.

Admittedly Nintendo doesn't give a shit about me and is trialling their snowboardng game by boarding down their massive mountain of yen, dollars and euros in their hidden undeground lair, and Sony don't care about me because I'm not Japanese/already completely obsessed about anything that they might show, but goddamn - it's E3.

How can I explain this? Oh yeah. E3 is followed by a certain type of person. And that kind of person is not the kind of person who really gives a shit about more Brain Training or Animal Crossing.

As for Sony. Don't try and be special, don't try to be unique. Instead, just try and do things *better* than your opposition. Namely, try and make sure that your console has features which can match the 360. Sure, it's technically more powerful, but the fact is that the 360 is still outpacing it on nearly every other front. Maybe some future updates will bring it up to a comparable level, but right now - stop saying: "OMG! RATCHET AND CLANK! BETTER THAN ANYTHING ON 360!" and instead go: "So, we've finally fixed our firmware to a level where we can now start to feature match with the 360, and now we're going to try and make sure that games that are multiplatform run better on our system."

Kind of is what they said. Except, obviously, Microsoft have announced a shitload of new features.

God this E3 is so boring so far. I care about GoW2 and Fallout 3 and that's about it. Someone here has got to have a sim announcement waiting.

Holy shit.

Especially that bit at the end. It's like those interactive cutscenes in RE4 or GoW but instead of "tap A to live" it "oh god shoot it shoot it." I liked the fakeout at the end before it grabbed him and pulled him in.

Controls look like they could be better. I know the guy playing was trying to just show off but it looked like he had a lot of trouble not getting hit by that first monster.

From the amount of times he missed shooting it I'm guessing the sensitivity was too high or something.

Obviously he was missing during the QTE bit on purpose.

I will say this: Isaac Clarke?
The sequel will have Arthur Asimov, perhaps? :P

Yeah, it was ok. For some reason, the only thing i'm able to really, really, like about Dead Space is the combination of The Thing and Alien themes in the premise of the game. Other than that it basically looks like BioShock in space. Another shooter with spells. :)

Dude, it's a SPACE game with CYBER ORGANIC badguys. It's fresh and new! :)

In any case, all the little munchkin babies are going to complain about the inventory interface not pausing the game, just like with Stalker.

To be fair, that is a problem if the interface sucks ass (just imagine if Mass Effect hadn't paused for its inventory screen...and if it had been more reliably difficult).

To be honest, it'd take a million monkeys on a million typewriters a million years to develop a WORSE inventory system than Mass Effect's. I know people who finished the game and didn't know guns had a second addon slot for ammo, because it's such a terrible interface.

The fact that they patched that for the PC version and didn't release a similar patch on the 360 is a rare form of assholishness.

Am I the only one getting seriously fucking pissed off that gaming companies keep releasing new games for consoles only?

First it was "Battlefield: Bad Company", then "Star Wars: Force Unleashed", and now another one I'd love to play, Far Cry 2.

Three different games, three diffeent companies, and they lost my business because they can't be bothered to make the game for PC? WTF? :x

Turns out there's more money in consoles and everyone hates bad console ports anyway.
