I think that game devs played too much Guildwars.
Ivory Bow is the ultimate gangrape weapon. If you have it you can forget about having archers in your party during sieges. You can do their work much more efficiently and invest the money in heavy infantry. Getting a 200+ proficiency with a bow when you actually start using it is a matter of a few hours.
I finished of Vaegirs and Im enroute to the last big Khergit party who is besieging a castle they lost a few days back (they have no fiefs left).
As a matter of fact, erasing a faction from existence causes Lords from that faction to join other factions. Vaegirs however uniformly joined my faction, the Holy Swadian Empire. Which on one hand is a bit awkward, but on the other... well, they teamed up with the most powerful faction, which is kinda wise on their side.
Problem is I now meet ex-Vaegir Lords that keep nagging me about how I hold their rightful fiefs. And refuse to follow any of my orders (I was elected a marshall).
Oh and a duel system is quite fun. If you get your own city a prisoner can challenge you to a duel for freedom. With a 31-level character its easy to win a 1-1 fight. However, faction leaders are still a challenge (I almost lost to Sanjar once).
