The games & entertainment division hasnt been operating on a profit since the Xbox was launched. While Halo 2 should put them into the black for this quarter, I doubt it would continue todo that.
But they did pull a nice profit on the first day, though I don't know wether to think their going to pass the $b mark.
I would be doubtfull that it could hit the billion dollar mark. Even $500 million sounds extreme. Probably should be able to judge once its been out for a few more weeks.
But I seriously doubt Halflife 2 will outsell Halo2. PC games just arent as big as console games.

I would be intrested in seeing Microsoft's numbers on its games division, but remember, the Xbox was basicly to create a brand name in the market, the Xbox 2 will be intresting.
At the rate we're seeing console sales explode, we might see the 500m$ mark.
I don't think HL2 will outsell any big console name, PC games don't have the advertising.

Cal: For the record I didn't just jump in this thread and start pre-madonna-ing. I was actually involved in the discussion. I thought you were taking things way too personal, so commented that you should chill out.
Fuck you, Cal, you angry little child.

I think I will just lock the thread instead. Consider this an offical warning to stop trolling Cal.

I was out of the thread for 24 hours before it was locked and what aspects I was in before it was locked had nothing to do with Cal. Cal came in flaming anyone who disagreed with him then flamed anyone who told him to calm down.
