By the way, Rogue, SPARTAN-like powerarmor is pretty commonplace in the galaxy for elite units...

Yeah, but the training isn't, and that's the real strength of the SPARTAN....

Sounds Good.
I've also updated my OOB to include Marine Compliments since that could end up being important. Just to make it clear, Fifth Fleet has:

Four Battalions on the BCs and CVs
Forty Companies on my CAs and CVLs (8 Battalions)
290 Platoons on my Escorts (48 Companies +2 Platoons) (9 Battalions +3 Companies +2 Platoons)

Total Marine Force
2 Platoons
3 Companies
1 Battalion
1 Regiment
1 Brigade

32,500 Marines

Of course since these are Marines they're lacking in anything heavier then squad level heavy weapons. They're basically shock troops. Superb infantry equiped with the best power armor in the galaxy, but still infantry. The Army is supposed to handle the heavy stuff.

OOB for the Fenari Freehold and the assorted nations of the Fenris Resolution.

Fenari Freehold
(Minor Power)

Wall of Battle, Heavy Warships: 15 Capital Points
(Names are rough approximations)

(250 escort points spent on the Fenari Den Defenders, 5 divisions of elite Fenari power-armor troops, embarked on fast assault transports.)

2 “Loyalty to the Packmother” Class Dreadnoughts (DN)
Points per Vessel: 2.5 capital
Summary: These two domestically-designed warships are the center of the Fenari fleet, being the personal property of the Alpha Pack of the Freehold. They were built at great expense in the Corporate Sector, financed by the Alpha Pack’s control of the Rhea hyperlane. Each vessel is a heavy dreadnought of surpassing power.

10 “Honor the Hunters” Class Battleships (DNG)
Points per Vessel: 1 capital
Summary: The domestically designed and built “Honor the Hunters” class Battleship is the premier capital ship of the Fenari fleet. Though technologically fairly simple, it is a solid design characterized by a balance of speed, firepower, and toughness. Armament consists largely of energy weapons, with a small battery of hypermissile tubes.

Cruisers, Medium Warships: 30 Cruiser Points

5 “Furious Beta Female” Class Carriers
Points per Vessel: 3 cruiser
Summary: Produced to support a fleet with it’s hefty payload of clawcraft, the “Furious Beta Female” class of light carrier is exemplified by it’s excellent engines, vast launch bays, and weak defenses and weaponry. 4 squadrons of mixed strike and interception clawcraft lie in her bays.

15 “Fortuitous Hunting Expedition” Class Light Cruisers
Points per Vessel: 1 cruiser
Summary: A fast, heavily gunned strike cruiser, the Fortuitous Hunting Expedition-class CL is a vicious combatant on the attack, using it’s overpowered engines to attack from an advantageous direction, where it might use it’s speed to close to ranges where it’s heavy beam armament can begin to exact a toll in blood. Shielding is light, but weaponry and engines are overpowered.

Escorts, Light Warships: 250 Escort Points

150 “Beta Male Assigned To Protect The Flanks” Class Escort Frigates
Points per Vessel: 1 escort
Summary: A light frigate equipped with point defense weaponry and light beam and missile armament, used as a convoy or fleet escort.

50 “Wise Hunter Who Attacks From Afar” Class Guided Missile Destroyers
Points per Vessel: 2 escort
Summary: This medium Destroyer mounts a fearsome battery of hypermissile tubes, as well as decent engines, protection, and point defense. It’s gun weaponry is more or less non-existent.

Other Fenris Accord Powers

Wall of Battle, Heavy Warships: 5 Capital Points

2 “Wladyslaw Sikorski” Class Battleships (Rzecspospolita Nowy Lwow)
Points per Vessel: 1 capital
Summary: The pride of the Nowy Lwow navy, these two battleships are Commonwealth-built vessels, designed, commissioned, and deployed almost 5 years ago, making the Republic of New Lvov one of the most powerful fiefdoms in the region.

1 “Deva Rakshasa” Class Battleship (Star Collective of Rakshasa)
Points per Vessel: 1 capital
Summary: This heavily modified warship is over 200 years old, an is believed to have at one point been a cruiser in the service of the Serenite navy.

4 “Battle of Issatra Dei” class Battlecruisers(Patriotic Union of Issat)
Points per Vessel: .5 capital

Roughly 50% of the Fenari fleet, and 30+ percent of the rest of em. Mostly escorts. Expect around a dozen capship points arriving, with an uncommonly heavy escort wall.

Yeah, it is. The genetic engineering, physical enhancements, and most importantly the combat training from six years old is not.

I believe that SKS Youma marines would take issue with that. ;)

As would Tycho's Space Marines, but they aren't exactly common, are they?

Edit: Anywho, a larger number of SPARTANs are on my list of things to spend my new production ship points on. Technically I shouldn't have Kyle-012, but I figured since he's just whacking NPCs at the moment, I could get away with having two or three early. Proof of concept, y'know. :P

If anyone's a little shocked by the rather large number of vessels, keep in mind that it's unlikely that the Gorn loyalist government would make the suicidal move they did, condemning the UTR, unless they were pretty sure they'd be able to rally significant support.

I like it, I was worried this would be as easy as the Klingon War. I want a fight where I have an actual chance to lose (not that I'm going to). This is perfect, with a large percentage of my Fleet busy in Klingon Space I won't just be able to swamp them with superior numbers.

So around half of the "dozen" powers that joined in have on cruisers?

Just for interests sake, are they bringing army/marines with them to assist on the ground while the fight is taking place in orbit?

Of course. The majority of the elite Fenari shock troops, 4 divisions of Den Defenders, are there.

The vast majority of it is in the hands of the Rebels, as the military is firmly in the UTR's pocket. The 30 or so percent that remained loyalist was destroyed in the first day of the conflict.

Lets see... no one has superweapon platforms, sun destroying weapons, or massive fleets of planetoid sized ships...
So, no, I'm thinking it will NOT become part of the great waste.

Oh, and just so we're clear, unlike in the UNSC my ODST armor is powered as well, just not quite to the degree of MJOLNIR.

Inoocent, i have an Anti-Ship superweapon platform if thats any consideration. also i think any ship equipped with two PTLs and a PIC is a real threat. Also most of my heavier ships are equipped for BDZing if thats also a consideration.

Ace Pace, you are NOT theoden.

and I would support the scouting of a new hyperlane, there is already an old dangerous one near my home system, but i am commercially and militarily active, and looking for buyers of high quality munitions.

Big deal man, the waste was created durign a war where stars were blown up, and massive fleets of planetioid sized duked it out with weapons that make ours look like pitance.

On another note, I thought Superlasers and similar super weapons were honestly not so effective against capital ships. Some sort of mod decision in the beginning as I recall...

I believe that the old fast rule is that a super weapon platform will not be a good match against another warship of similar tonnage. These are specialized platforms, designed primarily to breaching planetary shields in one fell swoop. All things being equal, a superdreadnought with a super laser will be less capable in a fleet battle than a superdreadnought without the massive and specialized weapon.

A super weapon grants you some advantages, but you pay for them via increased vulnerability. Space that would normally be reserved for armor, and weapons, is taken up by massive capacitors and so on.
